In clinical trials individuals lost an average of 10-15% of their body weight while taking semaglutide. For tirzepatide, individuals lost up to an average of 22% of their body weight. As with any medication, results will vary and there are no guarantees for effectiveness or success.

There have been reports of decrease muscle mass. This can be seen with rapid weight loss whether it be due to medication, restrictive diets, excessive cardiovascular workouts, or gastric bypass/bariatric surgery. It is important while on any weight loss plan that you are not only engaging in cardiovascular exercise but also including resistance training and muscle building. Maintaining strength is extremely important, especially as we age.

There are different program levels depending upon each individual’s goals, current lifestyle modifications and physical well-being. All levels include initial comprehensive physician evaluation, weekly visits and medication, accountability, education and support.

Initial consultation is 30-45 minutes for an in depth review of your medical history and to discuss the medication and program. Subsequent appointments will be about 10-15 minutes to review side effects if any, weight trend and take measurements. Medication dosing will be increased every 4 weeks based on tolerance and weight loss until goal dose is achieved.

Those who have a BMI of 30 or have a BMI of 27 or higher with weight related medical problems such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes or pre-diabetes to help them lose weight and maintain weight loss long- term.
Individuals who are overweight and need to jumpstart their weight loss. Those individuals who have stalled in their current weight loss program. Additionally, those individuals who have been following a diet plan and exercise program but still have stubborn fat may also be candidates for the program.
