Dr. Desiree Eakin is a board-certified physician whose career bridges the worlds of traditional medicine, aesthetic innovation, and root-cause healing. With nearly two decades of clinical experience, Dr. Eakin has earned a reputation as a compassionate, forward-thinking leader in the fields of integrative medicine, hormone health, and aesthetic wellness—combining deep clinical insight with a personalized, whole-person approach.

She began her medical journey with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Ecology from the University of California, Irvine before earning her Doctor of Medicine with honors from Ross University School of Medicine. She went on to complete her residency at the University of Nevada School of Medicine, where she was recruited to the faculty and became Chief of Hospital Medicine, recognized with multiple awards for clinical excellence and for her dedication to teaching and mentoring future healthcare professionals.

Her distinguished career in pediatrics and commitment to lifelong healing led to a professional pivot. Her pursuit for excellence caused her to question the problem-based roots of traditional medicine—treating symptoms without ever getting to the why. She realized that true healing requires more than prescriptions; it demands curiosity, context, and care that connects the whole picture: hormones, lifestyle, metabolism, environment, and lived experience. Integrative and functional medicine offered her the tools to address the root causes of imbalance and guide patients toward sustainable, whole-body wellness—not just temporary relief.

Dr. Eakin has spent the last decade transforming her clinical focus to address root causes of chronic health issues—bridging the science of internal wellness with the art of aesthetic care. Being a Fellow of Integrative and Functional Medicine at the University of California, Irvine has offered her the tools to address the root causes of hormone imbalance, metabolic dysfunction, and nervous system dysregulation. Today, she holds advanced certifications in hormone therapy, aesthetic medicine, metabolic health, and neuromodulation as well as board certifications in Obesity Medicine, Aesthetic Medicine, and Pediatrics.

As the founder and Chief Medical Officer of Total Illusion Aesthetic & Wellness Center, Dr. Eakin blends advanced diagnostics, hormone balancing, metabolic optimization, and aesthetic rejuvenation to deliver whole-body results that align how patients feel with how they look. Her mission is clear: empower people to reclaim their health, vitality, and confidence from the inside out. Whether through personalized hormone therapy, metabolic optimization, or natural-looking aesthetic procedures, Dr. Eakin approaches each case with empathy, strategy, and precision. Her work is rooted in the belief that true transformation is physiological, emotional, and personal. She is also a Key Opinion Leader and national speaker on the functional application of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic (HIFEM) therapy to support brain health, nervous system regulation, and mood stabilization. Dr. Eakin is one of the few clinicians integrating neuromodulation into functional medicine protocols to support mental wellness and cognitive performance. Her work in this field has made her a respected voice in the growing intersection between functional medicine and mental wellness.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Eakin serves as a principal investigator in several clinical trials and continues to mentor the next generation of physicians and advanced practice providers. Her passion for education, advocacy, and whole-body wellness is reflected not only in her practice—but in the way she empowers women to understand their bodies and become active participants in their own care.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Eakin is a proud wife and mother to two daughters, a painter, and a lifelong learner. She also serves on the board of the Children’s Benefit League of Long Beach, continuing her commitment to community care and children's health.
